HARP AND BOWL

When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
Revelation 5:8

In this verse the Bible presents a connection between music and prayer. At the International House of Prayer Kansas City a model has been developed involving prayer leaders and musicians playing and singing prayers to God in a continuous fashion. This model is called “Harp and Bowl.” At JAXHOP, we use the Harp and Bowl model to facilitate prayer that is both genuine and easy for everyone to join in with.

The hours of the prayer room are divided into sets, which are blocks of one or two hours of worship and prayer.

There are four types of sets at JAXHOP:
Worship with the Word

Worship with the Word is meant to create an atmosphere that promotes and encourages loving Jesus through His Word; studying, meditating, and reading the Bible. Those who are leading the set will have designated scriptures they sing and pray through.

Intercession

During Intercession sets, prayer leaders will engage the room in prayer regarding specific prayer focuses. Singers and musicians support the prayers through music and short choruses. There may be several different prayer focuses throughout these sets, as well as opportunities for the room to pray short prayers on the microphone or in small groups.

Devotional

An hour long set with a worship leader leading in an intimate time of meditating on the Lord.

Prophetic Worship

Corporate worship sets have no specialized focus. These sets are inclined to times of healing, prophetic songs, oracles or prophetic ministry.
